Orlando Pirates trio of Musa Nyatama, Luvuyo Memela and Siyabonga Mpontshane are all in line to end the campaign as the club’s best players.
The Bucs trio has been instrumental in helping the Soweto giants to a second spot finish in the 2017/18 campaign and the CAF Champions League spot.
Sources close to the Parktown-based club have indicated that the three are among the top names at the club to bag major accolades at the club’s end of season awards.
In his first season at the club, midfielder Musa Nytama has been pivotal in inspiring the Bucs midfield. The 30-year-old has bagged four league goals and has provided a number of assists for the front men.
In what has been his breakthrough season since arriving at Pirates, Memela has enjoyed a stellar season. The speedy winger has found the back of the neck five times this season including a brace against Soweto rivals Kaizer Chiefs.
Meanwhile, goalkeeper Mpontshane has proved his worth between the sticks since coming in for the injured Jackson Mabokgwane. The 32-year-old shot-stopper has kept two clean sheets in the seven league games he has played and has helped the Sea Robbers to five victories in the seven games he has played.
“It’s been an important season for us and all the players have done extremely well to take the club where it is now,” said the source.
Pirates concluded the campaign by beating Free State Stars 2-1 in the final game of the season.
