Kaizer Chiefs don’t have any players running the risk of suspension for the upcoming Soweto Derby when they face Mamelodi Sundowns next week.
The Glamour Boys take on Masandawana on Tuesday evening in their eighth game of the 2017/18 Absa Premiership season and are looking for only their third win of the season as they continue to struggle for form.
There is a positive to take for Komphela ahead of this month’s crucial Soweto Derby though, with Willard Katsande sitting out the last game through suspension they currently don’t have anyone walking a tightrope against the Brazilians.
Kgotso Moleko and Wiseman Meyiwa both have two yellow cards each – suspension comes after four, so are safe prior to the clash with the Buccaneers on October 21st, with Katsande now needing another four before he gets his next ban.
This is all good news for Komphela ahead of the Derby – what will be a massive game given the pressure on him – as he will not have to keep one eye on the FNB Stadium clash when selecting his team.
Chiefs face Sundowns on October 17th at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria.
