The Shoprite Bursary Programme
The Shoprite Bursary Program provides South African students with opportunities to further their studies in different higher institutions of their choice. The bursary cover students for registration, tuition, textbooks, and accommodation fees. Each bursary that is provided to students is linked to the agreement with Shoprite where students will work for Shoprite in the discipline of their studies.
Bursaries are awarded to students who are interested in studying in one of the following: Chartered Accounting, Pharmacy, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Information Technology, Industrial Engineering, Hospitality, Retail Business Management and Marketing.
The Shoprite Graduate Programme is aimed at graduates who are looking to gain experience in their field of study. These opportunities are customized to suit Shoprite’s areas of development. Graduate opportunities are available for graduates who holds the following qualifications: B.Pharm, Retail Management, and BCompt/B.Acc.
Store Environment Opportunities
Shoprite provides a lot of opportunities within their stores countrywide. These opportunities are offered to people who are interested to work in Shoprite stores. To apply for Shoprite store jobs, please use one of the following methods: You may dial *120*446# from your cellphone to apply, note that network rates apply for this method. You may also hand in your curriculum vitae to your closest Shoprite, Checkers or Usave store. When you are handing in your documents please don’t just hand them to anyone, ask for a manager. You can also hand in your CV at one of the Shoprite Recruitment Centres which are located in the following areas: Cape Town (Entrance 2, Fairbridge Mall, Old Paarl Road, Brackenfell). Pretoria (Shop 23, Nedbank Plaza, Steve Biko Street, Arcadia). Johannesburg (1st Floor, Ikusasa House, 129 Fox Street, Johannesburg).
Please note that if you do not hear from Shoprite in 30 days after submitting your CV, your application has been unsuccessful. In order to be considered for an opportunity in one of the Shoprite stores, you will need the following:
- A South African ID book
- You must be able to work retail hours, including weekends and public holidays
- A minimum qualification of Grade 10 – 12
