Tinkler has confirmed that they have been approached by the Sea Robbers, who are interested in signing Wome on a permanent basis.
SuperSport United coach Eric Tinkler has confirmed that negotiations with Orlando Pirates regarding the future of Dove Wome are underway.
As for Mandla Masango, who spent the previous campaign on-loan from Danish club Randers FC, Tinkler said they are not looking to bring him back.
“With regards to Dove Wome, negotiations are taking place with Pirates but if nothing comes out of it, he is still a SuperSport United player and he will come back to us,” Tinkler told The Sowetan .
“Mandla has gone back to his old club in Denmark and we won’t be renewing with him,” he said.
Tinkler replaced Stuart Baxter as the club’s new coach after the latter took over the senior national side.
He watched his new side march into the quarterfinals of the Caf Confederation Cup with an emphatic 4-1 over CF Mounana on Saturday.
They will now face Zambian side Zesco United in the knockout round, and Tinkler has called for adequate preparation as they will be facing tough opposition.
“We are going to Zesco United in Zambia and at least it is not a long trip, but the opposition are strong,” Tinkler said.
“We need to study them very carefully to ensure that we go there and put on a good performance. We would like to go to the semi-finals and win it at the end,” Tinkler added.
His technical team will remain the same, with Kaitano Tembo and Andre Arendse as assistant and goalkeeper coach respectively, while Zac van Heerden has been roped in as the conditioning coach, Tinkler confirmed.
“I am not making any changes besides that I have brought in Zac van Heerden to be the conditioning coach. He is somebody I have worked with in the past during my time at Bidvest Wits, and who I know very well and who understands how I want us to train. I am very happy with Kaitano and Andre,” Tinkler concluded
