Andile Jali’s agent Mike Makaab has revealed on Twitter that Orlando Pirates didn’t make an official offer for the former KV Oostende midfielder, who joined Mamelodi Sundowns last Friday.
According to Makaab, Pirates were interested in getting Jali back into the Bucs fold, but they failed to make a formal offer, responding to a fan who asked why the midfielder had joined Sundowns.
“Of course they did (enquire about Jali), but never made did an official offer. Each football club has its own understanding of which players they need and we should respect that,” said Makaab.
Meanwhile, Jali says the reason he chose Mamelodi Sundowns is because he wants to win silverware.
Jali, who joined Sundowns as a free agent last Friday after leaving KV Oostende in April, was also linked with Kaizer Chiefs and Pirates, but he chose Sundowns instead.
