Zodwa Wabantu planning to return to Zambia after being deported

Popular sultry entertainer and seductive Zodwa Wabantu is hopeful of returning to Zambia in the near future after she was denied entry by immigration authorities and put on the first flight back to Mzansi.

Zodwa Wabantu, whose real name is Rebecca Libram was apparently detained in Zambia as soon as she started her immigration formalities, immigration officials are alleged to have confiscated her mobile phones, denied her access to a lawyer and her promoters before deporting her back to South Africa early on Saturday.

Despite all that, Zodwa Wabantu told TshisaLIVE that she is still hopeful of going back to Zambia to perform as soon as the fighting between the Zambian authorities and her promoters dies down.

“Leave them to fight, I will be back when they are ready to have me. There was so much fighting between them. I am just an entertainer who was invited to perform. I was stuck in the middle of it all. I would love to still perform in Zambia in the future”, she told the publication.

Zodwa was meant to perform on Saturday in Lusaka at the launch of a music album organised by a local entertainment company called Sunset Sound Production.

The organisers of the show said in a statement earlier in the week that Zambia’s National Arts Council had rejected their application.

“The Council stated that… Zodwa’s performances were not in the public interest and undermined our national values,” the statement read.
