Chiefs’ players told to choose between winning and leaving

Naturena, Johannesburg – Kaizer Chiefs Football Club boss Mr. Kaizer Motaung had a meeting with players before departing for the Maritzburg game on Saturday the 24th September. The meeting was held because of the concerns Mr. Motaung had with the current situation at Chiefs as the team has been struggling to win games even against newly formed teams.

Players were told to choose between playing for Chiefs and facing the exit door at the team. Mr. Motaung went on to say that the coach Steve Komphela has a full support from team management. According to Mr. Motaung, players will be dealt with if things get worse at Chiefs and a lot of changes should be expected in the January transfer window.

The team won their game against Maritzburg United by 2 goals to zero and football fans and analysts around the country are wondering whether the words from the team boss played a role in making sure players pulls their socks up or it was just another game where they just have to win.

Chiefs won their 2 games in a row following their midweek win against Highlandspark collecting 6 points which place them in the top half of the league table.

Is it the turning point for Chiefs or not? The answer is simple, if players keep on playing like they did in these 2 games then they have a future at Chiefs but if they fail to impress the management especially Mr. Motaung, they will have to look for jobs somewhere away from Naturena in the near future.

Chiefs’ next game is against Free State Stars away at James Motlatsi Stadium in the Free State province on Wednesday the 28th September 2016 at 16h30. This game will actually determine whether Chiefs are on track to bring the glory days back to their beloved fans.
