Kaizer Chiefs are still being linked with Chippa United’s Thabo Rakhale, with the player also believed to be keen on a return to Gauteng.
As reported in edition 1077 of Soccer Laduma, Rakhale could be made available for a move during this transfer window, should there be concrete offers for his services.
Last week, Chiefs confirmed parting ways with the likes of Tsepo Masilela, William Twala, Edmore Chirambadare, Keagan Buchanan and Sibusiso Khumalo, among others.
With the Soweto giants currently in search of a new head coach for the new season, the club will also be expected to make additions to the squad by bringing in new players to replace the ones that have been allowed to leave.
Rakhale is one of the players believed to be on Amakhosi radar, as first reported by the Siya crew in edition 1070 of Soccer Laduma in April.
“Chippa United chairman Mr Chippa Mpengesi is a great guy who doesn’t stand in any player’s way if the player wishes to further his career elsewhere. If Chiefs are serious in their interest on Rakhale, a deal could happen like many have been done between the two clubs in the past,” said the source.
Rakhale made progress for himself and his career with Chippa in the second half of the 2017/18 season, following his arrival at the Port Elizabeth outfit from Orlando Pirates halfway through the campaign.
The 28-year-old skilful player made 13 appearances out of the 15 for Chippa during his presence at the club, and towards the end of the season, was rewarded with goals against Chiefs and SuperSport United respectively.
Having recently concluded deals for Linda Mntambo, Abel Mabaso and Paseka Mako, who have left to join Pirates, Chippa could be involved in more deals for more players before the start of the new season.
