A former Orlando Pirates youngster has secured a move to a KwaZulu-Natal club for the 2018/19 season.
As confirmed by the player’s representative, Siyanda Ngubo has penned a deal with Richards Bay in the NFD. Football agent, Lizwe Mthethwa of Aftesec Sports Group, has confirmed a one-year deal that has been signed for the forward with the KZN outfit.
“Siyanda Ngubo has signed a straight one-year contract with Richards Bay FC. He was initially supposed to sign with a PSL team, but negotiating his exit with his former team (Royal Eagles) took way more time than we anticipated, and the (PSL) move fell through,” confirmed Mthethwa.
The agent has thanked the boss of the Richards Bay-based club, Sifiso ‘Jomo’ Biyela, for the player’s deal.
“Jomo made us a very good offer. Siyanda is still only 22 and has yet to reach his full potential. He is looking forward to representing the city of Richards Bay and repaying the chairman and supporters with scoring goals and making assists,” said the representative.
Ngubo broke into professional football with his promotion from Pirates’ youth development to the senior team in 2015.
However, the player never got a chance to play in the PSL with Bucs, as he was loaned to Eagles in the NFD. The former South African under-20 striker has spent the last two years playing for Eagles where he has been impressive with his performances.
