Gabuza staying at Pirates

The latest news coming out of the Pirates camp is that striker Thamsanqa Gabuza is staying and the new contract negotiations are currently underway. It has been reported all over the country last week that Gabuza was leaving Pirates. We can now confirm to you that the Bafana Bafana striker will be scoring goals at Pirates in the new season.

It is believed that Pirates coach Muhsin Ertugral is the one who still want to have Gabuza at Pirates. Muhsin is known to like players who are determined and Gabuza is one of them. Thamsanqa is expected to pen down a new 3 year contract with Pirates before end of July.

While Pirates have confirmed that club chairman Irvin Khoza is set to meet with more players to discuss their futures, after the club placed the likes of Sifiso Myeni, Lehlohonolo Majoro and Felipe Ovono on the transfer list, Gabuza appears to be safe and ready to continue at the club for the 2016/17 season.

Pirates Chairman Dr. Irvin Khoza has been engaging a few senior Pirates players over the few weeks ago about their future at Pirates and a lot of speculation were going around regarding Gabuza leaving Pirates. Gabuza is currently in camp with his Pirates. The Bafana Bafana striker was among the goal scorers for Bucs in their friendly match on Wednesday.

Pirates’ fans are excited about their team retaining Gabuza after learning that Sfiso Myeni has been released by Pirates. The fans were not ready to lose top quality talent just like they did a few seasons ago when they lost the likes of Gift Liremi, Lebohang Mokoena, and Joseph Makhanya due to changes in their technical team.

Thamsanqa will add depth in the Pirates’ striking force where the likes of Thabiso Kutumela, Tendai Ndoro, and other new strikers will be looking forward to prove their worth at the team. It is obvious that Pirates has signed top quality players and they are willing to win everything that comes their way in the new season.

Pirates has released striker Lehlohonolo Majoro to join any team of his choice after a long discussion with the chairman last week. Both parties agreed on the matter and now Lehlohnolo is linked with a few teams in the Premier Soccer League (PSL).

A lot of signings are still expected at Orlando Pirates and word has it that the team will also offload more players in the next week. It seems Pirates are in a state of rebuilding the team and if so then a lot of senior players will be released to cater for new blood in the team. A lot of youngsters were signed and it really shows how serious the technical team is regarding rebuilding the team.

The new PSL season will start late in August due to Rio Olympic Games in Brazil as the South African under 23 squad qualified. The core of the team going to Brazil are players currently playing in the PSL and a very few playing in the NFD. Football fans over the country cannot wait to see the first game in the PSL season.
