Germiston Theatre to be renamed after the late Rhythm City actor

The Germiston Theatre will soon be named after the late actor, Dumi Masilela.

TV presenter and actor, Zola Hashatsi has announced that the process is already under way with the Ekurhuleni Mayor, Mzwandile Masina backing the movement.

“We honor his artistic talent and we hope this gesture will go a long way in healing the family and the Industry at large,” said Zola.

The state-of-the-art theatre will open at the end of May 2018.

Dumi, who died in August 2017 after an attempted hijacking gone horribly wrong, was born in Kempton Park in the Ekurhuleni Municipality.
