Kaizer Chiefs are now on top of Orlando Pirates in African rankings

While Absa Premiership log leaders, Mamelodi Sundowns remain unchanged on the standings; Orlando Pirates have dropped a few places below Kaizer Chiefs on the African rankings.

Both Sundowns and Pirates will be in action in the CAF Champions League this weekend, while Chiefs travel away to face SuperSport United in the Absa Premiership tonight.

Bidvest Wits, who are the fourth highest South African club on the ranking system, will also be in league action this evening, eager to fight their way back to the number one spot of the Absa Premiership standings.

However, their places on the African ranking system on footballdatabase.com tell a different story as we look at the rankings amongst the rest of Africa.

Sundowns are currently in 12th place and have been for several months, however, they could move one spot higher by the end of this weekend.

Pirates have dropped down to 20th position on the ranking system, despite partaking in the CAF Champions League, although this could change should they get a win this weekend.

Chiefs are at 18th place following two consecutive wins in the Absa Premiership.

Wits have also dropped down a few positions and are now at number 31 on the ranking system.
