Bernard Parker looks to have committed his future to Kaizer Chiefs beyond the end of the season, with a deal thought to have been agreed in principle with Amakhosi management.
We reported recently that the veteran forward, who will turn 33 next month, was in talks with the Glamour Boys to extend his time with the club after entering into the last six months of his current deal, and it appears that discussions have gone well.
Mike Makaab, the player’s representative, confirmed that they hoping to wrap up a new deal with Chiefs that could run until 2021, at which point the former Bafana Bafana international will no doubt be considering his future after football.
He told the our source, “We’re in good talks with Chiefs at the moment, and Bernard is very happy at the club. We’re hopeful of finalising a two-year deal with the club in the near future.”
Parker has scored Absa Premiership goals in all of the last eight consecutive seasons for Chiefs since returning to South Africa from Europe, playing a major role in their success under Stuart Baxter.
