Former Baroka goalkeeper, Virgil Vries, has been spotted at Naturena today as the club reconvened for pre-season ahead of the 2018/19 campaign.
Vries, who recently left Bakgaga, was training with the Clever Boys last week as he looked for the next step in his career, but it seems that he may have a future for himself with the Amakhosi. The club did their testing at Naturena today, and are set to undergo fitness tests at the village tomorrow.
Bobby Motaung told the media on Monday that they will be announcing a new goalkeeper following the departure of Brilliant Khuzwayo to Orlando Pirates, and the fact that Vries was training with the club could suggest that he’s their new man.
Chiefs already confirmed the signing of Khama Billiat, Letlhogonolo Mirwa and Andriamirado Andrianarimanana, and Vries could potentially become their fourth signing of the last seven days.
Interim head coach, Patrick Mabedi, was present to take his players through their paces in the absence of a new head coach, with the club still on the hunt for Steve Komphela’s replacement.
