Kaizer Chiefs want Stuart Baxter back as their coach

Kaizer Chiefs are believed to be edging closer to finding the best man for their vacant head coach position, with Stuart Baxter at the very top of their list.

The Soweto giants are expected to confirm a new head coach in the coming days, with indications that an announcement will be made before the team reports for pre-season training next week.

According to sources in the know, Chiefs are edging closer to getting their man, with sources revealing that Amakhosi have met with Baxter’s camp, once again inquiring about the Englishman’s availability.

Baxter is still contracted to Bafana Bafana, making it a sensitive situation at hand for the Englishman, as he has to consider his role with the South African national team.

However, sources have revealed that there have been talks taking place with the Amakhosi management and Baxter’s camp, with the Soweto giants keen on trying one last time to bring Baxter back to the club.

Sources revealed that Amakhosi have full faith that Baxter will be able to turn around their fortunes in the new season and while there is even a slight possibility that he could come on board at Naturena, management will try their best to get their man.

At this point in time, nothing has been agreed on as yet, however, Chiefs could be making an announcement in the coming days.
