Latest moves in the PSL




Latest transfers in the Premier Soccer League (PSL) for the upcoming 2016/2017 season.

  • Pitso Mosimane and the Sundowns technical team are going to share a million rand following their successful campaign in the PSL as they managed to win the PSL league in the 2015/2016 season. They also won the Telkom Knockout in 2015. Million rand they are going to share is 10% of their R10m winnings.
  • Bongani Ndulula is said to have signed a 3 year deal with Chippa United FC which is plying their trade in the Premier Soccer League (PSL). The team chairman confirmed the move. Ndulula is denying that he has signed for the team.
  • Steven Pienaar is expected to sign a contract with one of the big teams in South Africa. It is believed that Mamelodi Sundowns are monitoring the situation as it was earlier reported that Steven Pienaar was about to sign a deal with one of the Chinese League teams.
  • Orlando Pirates is said to have an agreement with the DRC team AS Vita for the signature of the Ghanaian midfielder Bernard Morrison. The player has impressed Pirates in AS Vita’ Champions League performances. Pirates are on a mission to bolster their squad for the upcoming 2016/2017 season and they are also planning to return to CAF competitions which are the Confederations Cup and the Champions League.
  • Katlego Mashego is the player Highlanders Park FC are said to be interested in for their 2016/2017 debut PSL season. The player is currently in the books of Mamelodi Sundowns. He has not seen much game time in the 2015/2016 PSL season with the champions and it is expected that he will agree on moving to a team that will provide him with a chance to play full time.
  • Thabo Mnyamane of Pretoria University FC is said to be moving to one of the big PSL teams and rumor has it that he is heading to Naturena. The move to Kaizer Chiefs will be a good one for his career as the team is currently in a rebuilding phase and they are looking for talented players.
  • Eric Tinkler is the coach of Cape Town New Black Aces. He has been given a mandate to finish the 2016/2017 season in the top eight. The team has acquired the status of Mpumalanga Black Aces and relocated to Cape Town as Black Aces was based in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga.
  • Mamelodi Sundowns managed to win their first game against a North African opponent. They managed to break the record on Saturday night when they beat ES Serif of Algeria by two goals to zero.
  • Tlou Molekwane signed a 3 year contract with Bloemfontein Celtic FC. The right back was once in the books of Kaizer Chiefs and Polokwane City. He has now cemented a contract in the Free State province.

 

  • Siphiwe Gwala has signed a contract with Baroka FC. The player was with FC Cape Town in the National First Division (NFD).

 

  • Orlando Pirates Ghanaian defender Edwin Gyimah has indicated that Orlando Pirates will be the last team he plays for in South Africa. Gyimah is part of the Ghanaian national team.
