Mamelodi Sundowns’ Brockie not worried about not scoring goals

Mamelodi Sundowns striker Jeremy Brockie insists he is not bothered by his goal-drought at Chloorkop.

Brockie is yet to score since joining Sundowns in a high-profile move from Tshwane rivals SuperSport United in January.

The New Zealand-born forward contrastingly plundered 54 goals in a three-year spell for SuperSport – three goals shy of the club record held by the late Abram Raselemane.

However, he has faith his fortunes will change.

“No, I am not bothered at all,” Brockie said.

“All the players here have been doing the job and been scoring goals, and winning the games.

“I was contributing by pushing those players at training and making sure they perform when they come onto the pitch and do the job for the team.”

He added: “I came halfway through the season and when I arrived the club was on top of the table, and the players who got the club on top of the table were in good form.

“I just need to be patient and wait for my opportunity.”

The 30-year-old was a late substitute in the 3-1 friendly loss to Barcelona at FNB Stadium in midweek.

Pitso Mosimane’s men next face Guinea’s Horoya in a CAF Champions League group stage tie in Conakry on Tuesday.
