A Mamelodi Sundowns defender looks set to begin preseason training with Mamelodi Sundowns as he looks to make a full return from injury.
Rivaldo Coetzee has been out of action for a year now. He has been nursing his injury since joining Sundowns in August last year. The player has been undergoing rehabilitation and training by himself as he looks to make a full recovery from a foot injury.
According to Siya sources, the player could soon report to preseason training with the Masandawana first team, as he looks to get on track to potentially make his first appearance for the Brazilians in the coming months.
Head Coach Pitso Mosimane previously revealed to the public that Sundowns are in no rush to have the 21-year-old back to fitness, as he was a signing they viewed as being one for the future.
Although, with Wayne Arendse approaching his 34th birthday and Bangaly Soumahoro’s uncertain future at the club, the Brazilians could do with extra cover in their centre-back department.
It remains to be seen when Coetzee will make a full return to action, although at this point it seems that the Sundowns fitness team won’t be rushing the player’s progress.
