Mobara and Norodien for Pirates

Orlando Pirates is in a mission that was never expected. The team is signing quality players to bolster their squad for 2016/2017 upcoming season. The team is doing this to make sure they win silverware in the new season and possibly return to the CAF competitions as they are very destined to win a CAF competition.

Pirates has already signed Abbubaker Mobara and Riyaad Norodien from Ajax Cape Town. They also signed Bernard Morrison from AS Vita in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The signings were confirmed by Pirates boss Dr Irvin Khoza. It is believed that Riyaad Norodien was informed via SMS as he is with Bafana Bafana in the COSAFA tournament being played in Namibia.

Pirates are doing their best to also acquire the services of Steven Pienaar and Sbusiso Vilakazi. Pienaar is a free agent after his contract expired at Everton, he is free to join a club of his choice and if agreed he will be a buccaneer next season. It was reported that the team in Chinese League was looking to sign Pienaar but nothing has been confirmed so far. Vilakazi is a Wits University FC player and Pirates are more than interested in bringing the player to Mayfair. In past seasons it was reported that Wits were asking for an impossible price tag on the player. Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs were the front runners for Vilakazi’ signature in the past seasons, but things have changed now as Pirates are the front runners to acquire the midfielder’s signature.

Pirates club boos Dr Irvin Khoza indicated that they are doing everything in their power to get Vilakazi and Pienaar to the club. If they manage to sign the 2 players, it will mean Pirates will be on 6 new confirmed signing so far. This is a great move by the team as the players they are signing are of great quality. Pirates is known to sign top class players in the country and from the rest of the continent, but Pirates are known for using local based players and if they sign a foreigner then it means the player is of great talent and will add value to Pirates.

It was also announced by the club boss that the team will be releasing a few players next week. It is believed that a lot of players who were loaned to other teams last season will be released again on loan or permanently. This is done to make way for new signings in the team as they will be preparing for the new season with new coach Muhsin Ertugral. Ertugral is known to be a very difficult coach and a lot of players don’t like him as they say he is disrespectful. He once had a fallout with Mabhuti Khanyeza and Abia Nale when they were playing Chiefs. It is a wait and see situation whether what has been said about Muhsin is true or not, but word has it that he is one of the best foreign coaches in the Premier Soccer League (PSL). If so then he must prove it to the football fraternity by winning trophies with the buccaneers.
