Mamelodi Sundowns will be playing in the semifinals of the CAF Champions League on the 17th and 23rd September 2016. The first game will be played in Zambia and the second game will be played in South Africa. The winner will book a spot in the finals of the competition.
Club boss Patrice Motsepe have been looking for an opportunity like this one over the years. His dream has been to win the continental competition and the team is only 4 games away from making history.
“First of all I am very delighted for the boys and also very happy for the country. The boys have done all the hard work and it is up to them to finish off their hard work in style. That is bringing the trophy back home in South Africa as I feel it belongs here” Motsepe said in an interview on a sport show on national television.
“Our triumph will be the country’s triumph. We will be playing as South Africa not Sundowns. We need support from all South Africans in this journey. It is time we stand up together and be united in one vision which is to make our country proud and to show the rest of the world that we are capable of being champions” he continued.
The match will be a tough one as both teams play with flair and most importantly they are both talented teams. Zesco United is known to surprise a lot of African giants in their campaign to the semifinals.
Football fans around the continent will be glued to their television sets for the much anticipated matches that will decide who will be ready for the finals.
