Kaizer Chiefs are believed to be considering an attempt to sign Orlando Pirates midfielder Lehlogonolo Masalesa in this transfer window. The midfielder, who made a name for himself at Bidvest Wits before securing a move to Pirates in 2012, is seemingly no longer in the plans at the Soweto giants.
Bucs’ new signing Bernard Morrison made his debut for the side in the Soweto derby wearing the number 12 jersey, which has been Masalesa’s number since taking it over from Mark Mayambela a few seasons ago.
Chiefs are monitoring the player’s situation with keen interest. Although the 24-year-old has not officially been placed on transfer list by Pirates, our sources have indicated that he is seen as surplus to requirements under coach Muhsin Ertugral and his technical team.
Viera is a great player who has also played in the CF Champions League and the Confederations Cup. With the arrival of Muhsin Ertugral, thigs have not been going Viera’s way at Pirates. Masalesa’s jersey number has been given to Morrison.
Players like Sfiso Myeni are also leaving Pirates. It seems Pirates is having unknown players as they are releasing top quality players. People are waiting to see whether Muhsin will succeed in his mission.
Pirates’ supporters are fearing for the end of their team as they don’t trust Muhsin Ertugral at all. The man has done the same thing at Chiefs and he did not succeed as he failed them and he was chased out of Naturena.
For the time being, Bucs have officially placed Sifiso Myeni, Lehlohonolo Majoro, Felipe Ovono, Roger Majafa, Letsie Koapeng and Yasser Mugerwa on the transfer list.
