Orlando Pirates appoint new goalkeeper coach for English Championship side Swansea

Orlando Pirates have found themselves a new goalkeeper coach from the English Championship snapping up a Welshman from Swansea City.
It was confirmed by the Swans’ official website today that Andrew Sparkes had left his role as Head of Academy Goalkeeping at the club after agreeing to move to South African and join the Buccaneers.
Sparkes, who was with New York Red Bulls before joined Swansea, looks set to start with Pirates as they get their preseason underway ahead of the 2018/19 season.
He told Swansea’s website, “After six years at Swansea City, it’s time to move on to the next challenge. I’m so thankful for the opportunity the club has given me. I’ve been so lucky to work with so many talented players and excellent staff during my time.”
It remains to be seen what will happen to current head goalkeeper coach, Ivica Vukusic, who joined the club as a replacement for Rowen Fernandez last year.
