Orlando Pirates plan to gain a stronger foothold on continental club football.
The crew reported on the new look Bucs technical team consisting of Andrew Sparkes, Darian Wilken and Franck Plaine.
“We have been clear about our intention to get a stronger foothold in the African club competitions,” said the club’s Administrative Officer, Floyd Mbele.
“This is a space that we want to become prominent and that’s why we have made the changes to our technical team. Our coaches have done well in helping the team qualify for the CAF Champions League and we need all the experience we can get to ensure that the team competes effectively on that stage.
“We are confident that the new members’ expertise will serve the team well especially in our technical ranks. We have also brought in several new players so it’s all systems go. This should prove to our supporters that we want Pirates to become a dominant force on the African continent,” concluded Mbele.
The Siya crew has reported that the Sea Robbers have already begun their pre-season preparations. At the top of the to-do list for the new technical team is to reduce the current squad which currently sits at 45 players.
