Orlando Pirates have signalled their intent to win silverware in the upcoming season by signing a host of players in a bid to strengthen their squad. But how could the Bucs line up next season?
The Sea Robbers have purchased a total of nine new players for the new campaign, with the club announcing the signings of Brilliant Khuzwayo, Vincent Pule, Ben Motshwari, Meshack Maphangule, Asavela Mbekile, Linda Mntambo, Abel Mabaso, Paseka Mako and Kudakwashe Mahachi in one go.
With Pirates competing in five competitions, including the CAF Champions League, in 2018/19, they cited their heavy schedule as one of the reasons for adding nine players to their roster.
Khuzwayo’s capture is considered to be the pick of the bunch, and he could well be the preferred goalkeeper between the sticks.
Other than the new players already revealed, Bucs could still be in for Bidvest Wits star Thulani Hlatshswayo, who has been linked with the Mayfair team for quite some time.
This potential line-up could see the likes of Mabaso slotting in at right back, with the talented Motshwari being the likely candidate alongside the marauding Musa Nyatama in midfield.
In attack, fans could expect to see Mahachi and Pule in the line-up amongst Pirates’ regulars.
