Orlando Pirates have already confirmed the departures of five players from the club since the season ended.
On Monday, The Buccaneers confirmed having parted ways with Marc van Heerden, whose contract with the club has been terminated.
Bucs’ confirmation of Van Heerden’s departure followed the news of Riyaad Norodien and Brighton Mhlongo, whose departures have also been confirmed by the Soweto giants this month.
The team already released gift Motupa who joined Chippa United.
Norodien and Mhlongo have joined Cape Town City and Bidvest Wits respectively. In May, Chippa United confirmed signing Gift Motupa from Pirates on a three-year deal, following his season-long loan deal with Baroka FC in the 2017/18 season.
Bucs are also expected to formally part ways with the defender, Ayanda Gcaba at the end of his contract at the end of this month.
Following the club’s announcement last week of having signed nine players in Brilliant Khuzwayo, Vincent Pule, Ben Motshwari, Meshack Maphangule, Asavela Mbekile, Linda Mntambo, Abel Mabaso, Paseka Mako and Kudakwashe Mahachi, Bucs are expected to part ways with some of the players from last season to leave coach Milutin Sredojevic and his technical team with a manageable squad.
