The exchange of words between Edwin Gymah and Muhsin Ertugral was a scene not to be missed at the Airport in Cape Town after Pirates’ game against Ajax Cape Town. It was reported that the 2 were not in speaking terms after the game and Edwin was very upset with how the coach treated him during the game.
According to our source at Pirates, Muhsin does not have respect for players. Our source said “he treats them like children. If he continue this way he will not last long here at Pirates. The fight with Gyimah was not the first, he has already exchanged words with a few senior team members at training. One of them is Happy Jele”.
According to reports, Muhsin substituted Edwin Gyimah in the 46th minute against Ajax and that did not go well with him. We can assure you now that it is not true that the 2 are fighting for that. The 2 have been having arguments since Muhsin’s arrival at Pirates. Muhsin does not like the way Gyimah marks his opponents and he communicates with Edwin in a disrespecting manner.
Gyimah must learn to respect his seniors so that he can have a great future in football. On the other hand Muhsin must learn to understand all players from different cultures. Muhsin must not expect every player to just accept how he talks to them. He must respect them and they will respect him.
The 2 are set to appear before Pirates’ management for discussions over what happened between them. The management will hear stories from both parties and decide on what to do for the team to continue with their current form in the Premier Soccer League (PSL). The expected outcome is that Muhsin must calm down when showing his frustrations at players and he must communicate with them in a respecting manner, not shouting at them like children. Edwin will be told not to retaliate when the coach is angry at him regarding an activity on the field of play.
