TS Galaxy chairman Tim Sukazi feels Orlando Pirates loanee Zakhele Lepasa should stay one more season in the National First Division before making a return to the Buccaneers.
Lepasa, a nominee for the Nedbank Cup Player of the Tournament, has been a sensation since joining Galaxy during the January transfer window, after his loan spell to NFD champions Stellenbosch in the first half of the season was not a success.
Some of the Pirates fans are calling for Lepasa to return to the club for next term, but Sukazi says they would be happy to keep the player for a full season and believes he’d get valuable experience in the second tier.
“We took him because we knew that there is potential and I’m happy for him and we’ve taken him into the main fold, which is playing for the Orlando Pirates first team,” Sukazi tells KickOff.com.
“To be honest having him for another season will not only be good for TS Galaxy, but him. He is still a young boy and he is gaining experience. He is still in his development phase, he is not a complete product just yet. He needs this kind of a league, to be playing week in and week out, as he is playing here, for him to grow.”
