Yannick Zakri is a Mamelodi Sundowns playmaker who joined the team from the Ivorian team Asec Mimosa. He was part of the Asec development structure before joining the senior team. He was one of the star players at Asec Mimosa and has been with the senior team since July 2014. His move to Sundowns was long awaited and has come at the right time for the Ivorian. Yannick is the second Ivorian player to join Sundowns after Siaka Tiene.
Firstly, Yannick was born on the 26th March 1991 in Gagnoa, Ivory Coast. He has played for the senior national team 7 times and scored 1 goal. Yannick has also represented the Ivory Coast under 23 team. He has a lot of experience as a footballer as he also played in both the CAF Champions League and the Confederations Cup.
Sundowns are beefing their squad because the team has extended their achievements in football as they are now determined to show the rest of the continent that they are the best team in the continent. The team will be facing ZESCO United Football Club in the CAF Champions League semifinals. Yannick has not been registered to play for Sundowns in the Champions League as he played for Asec Mimosa in the same competition.

He indicated that he joined Sundowns so that he can improve as a player as South African teams are much stronger than the rest of the continent. He indicated that he was very interested in joining a team in the country after great performance by Pirates in the Champions League and the Confederations Cup.
